Saint Brigid – Patron Saint of Printmakers Linocut
Saint Brigid – Patron Saint of Printmakers
A hand-carved linocut depicting Saint Brigid, reimagined here as the patron saint of printmakers.
Holding a brayer and a tube of ink, this icon celebrates the tools and traditions of relief printmaking. Inspired by traditional devotional imagery and tattoo flash design, the print blends historic saint iconography with contemporary printmaking culture.
The design honours the craft itself — the carving, the ink, the press, and the quiet rituals of the studio.
Each print is carved and printed by hand using oil-based relief ink in a small limited edition.
Printed in a rich Rubine red on heavyweight archival paper.
A perfect piece for printmakers, artists, studios, and collectors of printmaking art.
Original hand carved lino
Each print is individually hand-printed, signed, numbered, and embossed with the Elucidation Inc. seal for authenticity.
Edition of 15
Printed in Rubine Red Caligo Safe Wash oil-based ink
Archival, acid-free cotton paper
Signed, numbered & embossed
Paper size: approx. A3 (297 × 420 mm)
Print size slightly smaller for border
Hand-printed on my lever press
Your print is not framed, allowing you to choose something which will fit the unique aesthetic of your home.
As a direct consequence of this extremely analogue way of working, each print may have small variations, depending on the paper, ink, temperature, time of day or pressure when printed and this adds a wonderful quality to each print.
Your print will be lovingly packaged, firstly sealed in cellophane, then wrapped in tissue paper, your print is then layered between cardboard and posted flat or placed in a cardboard tube depending on size, to ensure it arrives with you as perfect as it leaves my studio.
